On Nov. 8, Texas authorities arrested four men during a drug raid at a residence in Hutto. The operation was conducted by detectives from the Hutto Police Department and the Pflugerville Police Department.

According to local media sources, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on the 200 block of Carol Drive. During the search, they reportedly uncovered 74 THC vaping cartridges, 13 LSD tabs, a vial of suspected LSD liquid and a bottle of promethazine codeine. They also allegedly found a 9mm pistol, over $2,800 in cash and a credit card that may have been stolen. Four people were taken into custody and transported to the Williamson County Jail for processing.

In the weeks leading up to the raid, detectives allegedly saw the defendants selling drugs to teens and young adults in multiple areas of Williamson and Travis counties, including Hutto, Pflugerville, Austin, Cedar Park, Jarrell, Leander, Liberty Hill and Round Rock. Two of the defendants have been charged with second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, they each face up to 20 years in prison. One defendant was charged with third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance. He faces up to 10 years in prison if found guilty. The fourth defendant was charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence.

Individuals convicted of drug crimes in Texas often face severe consequences, including years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines. However, all defendants are presumed innocent and have the right to mount a vigorous defense against the accusations with the help of a criminal defense attorney. In some cases, the attorney might be able to get the charges dismissed. In others, legal counsel may suggest negotiating a plea deal that allows the defendant to plead guilty to reduced charges.
